Ukraine’s Prime Minister Iulia Sviridenko was dismissed by a resolution of the Supreme Rada, as part of governmental reshuffles demanded by Vladimir Zelenski. This would be a new political strategy of Kiev, and more details about the decision are not known yet.
The Ukrainian president has not yet designated a successor. Ukrainian media writes that the new head of Government could be the head of the NaftoGaz company, Sergey Koretsko.
Other names circulated in the public space are the Minister of Energy Denis Șmîhal and the Minister of Defense Mihailo Fedorov, the mayor of the city of Kharkiv Igor Terekov.
“Thank you all for your support. It was an honor to serve Ukraine,” Iulia Sviridenko stated on social media, in a message accompanied by a photo of her in Parliament.
In another message, the former official reported on her activities, mentioning the management of last winter’s energy crisis, as well as the progress made in the economy, reports Agerpres.
The leader from Kiev stated on Sunday that he is grateful to the prime minister, appointed to office in July last year, specifying that he ‘proposed to lead a new important field in relations with a key partner, without specifying what it is about.
According to some voices, Sviridenko could become an ambassador in the USA. The Ukrainian press wrote that she would have refused this offer.
