    Speaker Igor Grosu and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission Lilian Carp reject the statements of Vasile Costiuc, who claimed that the government authorized the activity of an arms factory. According to officials, this is a manipulation campaign launched by Russia.

    “We are not talking about a military industry at all. Such equipment can only be manufactured by state institutions. We are talking about hunting cartridges here. This company has obtained the right to legally manufacture and deliver hunting cartridges abroad and in the country. This is a campaign to promote the narratives of the Russian Federation,” Igor Grosu told journalists.

    Lilian Carp clarified that the production of weapons and combat ammunition can only be carried out by the state. According to him, private companies only produce civilian use ammunition, in accordance with legal provisions.

    The comments were made after the leader of the “Home Democracy” Party, Vasile Costiuc, claimed that a private company had obtained a license for the manufacture and production of ammunition, through the Investment Council. In his opinion, this would have turned the country into a “legal target” for external actors, in the context of the geopolitical situation.

    In response, the Public Services Agency informed that the company had only applied for a license for the production of civilian weapons and ammunition.
