The drone that crashed two days ago on the roof of a building in the Center sector of the capital was not detected by existing radars, as they cannot identify flying devices at low altitudes. The clarifications were made by the president of the Parliamentary Commission for National Security, Lilian Carp.

The parliamentarian told reporters from Moldova 1 that, according to preliminary information, it was a research drone, with no explosives on board.

“The new radar that is in the process of being installed and is set to be installed in the coming months will see at a much lower altitude, even the launch site. Therefore, I reiterate that investments in the military are necessary in order to provide security to our citizens”, declared Lilian Carp.

A drone was detected on the night of April 27 to 28, on the roof of a residential building on Sprâncenoaia Street in Chisinau. Previously, a fire had occurred in the same building.
