In his first public intervention after the attacks launched on Tehran on Saturday, President Donald Trump described the military operation as “the last and best chance” to neutralize the Iranian threat. The White House leader announced that the mission, which aims at the total destruction of Iran’s ballistic and naval capabilities, is progressing much faster than anticipated.

How long does Trump anticipate the operation in Iran will last

The American president says that initially, a duration of four to five weeks was anticipated, but adds that the US has “the ability to continue much longer”.

According to the American president, the US had foreseen four weeks to eliminate Iran’s military leadership, “and this was accomplished in about an hour, so we are well ahead of schedule”.

“The operation could last 4-5 weeks, but I don’t get bored”, stated the White House leader.

Donald Trump presented the US objectives in Iran

Trump asserts that the objectives of the operation in Iran are “clear”.

These include “destroying Iran’s ballistic capabilities” and “annihilating its navy”, as well as preventing it from ever possessing nuclear weapons, according to The Guardian.

He adds that the country “cannot continue to arm, finance, and direct terrorist armies beyond its borders”.
