Donald Trump did not call Vladimir Putin after his meeting with the Ukrainian president, even though officials had agreed on this. The information was confirmed by the Kremlin’s spokesperson.
“Mr. Trump was apparently very busy following all the contacts from Ankara, which is why no one called him yesterday,” Peskov said.
The official from Moscow further added that the Russian president is “always happy to speak”.
Trump met with Zelenski on July 8, during the NATO summit in Ankara. Before the meeting, he publicly stated that he would call Putin after the meeting.
During the meeting, Trump promised to grant Ukraine a license to produce Patriot missiles and praised the long-range attacks on Russian territory, calling them an “escalation that could lead to the end of the war.”
Before the summit, leaders from the USA and Russia had a phone discussion. The Kremlin announced that they agreed to have a new conversation after Trump’s discussions with Zelenski.
