Only 31% of Americans with annual incomes of up to $50,000 approve of Donald Trump’s performance as president. At the same time, 65% express disapproval, according to a survey conducted by the sociological research institute YouGov, writes DW.

In contrast, among American citizens with higher incomes, approval of Trump’s policies is higher: among those earning over $100,000 a year, 40% positively appreciate his activity, while 51% have a contrary opinion.

The main cause of Trump’s rating decline, notes Newsweek magazine, is related to the issues regarding housing accessibility in the USA. The publication emphasizes that this aspect could directly influence the success of the Republican Party in the elections scheduled for 2026 and could affect the “second half” of Donald Trump’s presidential term.

Trump’s approval rating in April, after the first 100 days of his new term at the White House, was the lowest in the last 80 years, reaching 55%. A joint survey conducted by Ipsos, ABC News and The Washington Post showed that 67% of respondents were not satisfied with Trump’s actions during the stock market crash, 64% did not support the introduction of customs tariffs for foreign imports, and 61% expressed their dissatisfaction with the US foreign policy.
