Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski left 10 Downing Street on Monday afternoon, following bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, continuing the four-way talks with Emmanuel Macron and Friedrich Merz.
The French President and the German Chancellor left the discussions earlier, having obligations to fulfill in their countries.
Upon departure, Zelenski embraced Starmer, as recorded by The Guardian.
A source within the French presidency stated that Monday’s meeting “allowed the continuation of our joint efforts” on the peace plan proposed by the US and on the contributions Europe can make.
The situation is “in the process of being finalized”, but there are still things to be done regarding security guarantees for Ukraine and agreements related to the post-war reconstruction of the country, added the French source.
