Reaction of the Head of the Customs Service in Chisinau
The Head of the Customs Service, Radu Vrabie, reacted to the case of the vehicle with weapons, emphasizing that it was discovered on Wednesday night to Thursday by Romanian customs officers, after they were alerted by their Moldovan colleagues. He also argues that the incident shows the importance of equipping the structure with modern equipment.
“The truck with weapons was discovered this night by the Romanian customs authority, after the customs officer on the Moldovan side requested the initiation of control, considering that the scanner is on the Romanian side. This case shows us, among other things, how important it is to have high-performance scanning equipment at all border crossing points”, the official emphasized.
Radu Vrabie added that the structure he leads has notified the prosecutors, a criminal case being initiated.
