South Korea announced on Wednesday that it will summon the Iranian ambassador to deliver a strong protest, following suspicions that a missile launched by the Tehran regime hit a ship in Ormuz. The incident took place at the beginning of May.
“Our government is summoning the Iranian ambassador in South Korea to present the findings of the investigation,” the authorities in Seoul announced.
The representative of Iran will be asked to take measures to prevent any kind of relapse.
The HMM Namu ship, under Panamanian flag and operated by a South Korean company, was hit by two unidentified devices on May 4th, according to Agerpres. As a result, the outer plate of a tank was damaged and a fire broke out.
Tehran has denied any responsibility for the attack, with the Iranian embassy in Seoul publishing a statement on its website rejecting the accusations.
The remains of the ship were taken to South Korea, where an examination was conducted. The technical analysis indicated that an Iranian missile hit the ship.
