Russian authorities may cancel the Victory Parade on May 9 in Moscow and Saint Petersburg due to the new long-range “Flamingo” missiles recently developed by Ukraine, reports The Moscow Times.
Russian military bloggers have already expressed their concern, in various online posts, about this possible scenario.
“(The cancellation of the parade) will be a significant image blow,” declared Russian military blogger Ilya Tumanov during the Soloviov Live show, moderated by Vladimir Soloviov, one of the most influential propagandists of the Kremlin.
Tumanov drew attention to the fact that the air parade has already been cancelled: if the military parade does take place, however, no Russian military aircraft will participate.
Sunday, April 5, should have been a rehearsal for the parade, on a training ground, which however did not take place.
The Kremlin offered an evasive response regarding the military parade scheduled for May 9, the day of victory against Nazi Germany, which marked the end of the Second World War.
