Ferrari plans to increase the prices of some of its cars sold in the United States in response to the new customs taxes, announced the luxury car manufacturer on Thursday.
Ferrari added that it will largely respect its financial objectives for this year.
The United States announced on Wednesday the imposition of a 25% customs duty on imports of automobiles.
The new customs duties on cars and light trucks will come into effect on April 3rd. The announcement has shaken the entire automotive sector worldwide, according to Reuters.
Global vehicle manufacturers have warned about immediate price increases and concerns are growing about job losses in countries with a large auto industry.
Ferrari, which produces all its cars at the factory in Maranello, northern Italy, has announced it will raise prices by up to 10% on all imported models after April 2, in coordination with its dealer network.
The conditions will be the same for all orders imported before this date and for all models 296, SF90, and Roma, regardless of the import date,” representatives from Ferrari added.
