The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has announced that the restoration works of the Druzhba oil pipeline will allow its partial restart by the end of April, with the infrastructure to be fully restored at a later stage.
The statements were made during a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
According to the Ukrainian leader, the partial resumption of the Drujba pipeline’s activity could contribute to the stabilization of regional energy flows and the fulfillment of commitments undertaken by European Union countries, including Hungary.
Zelenski emphasized the importance of balanced cooperation with European states in the energy sector, mentioning the necessity of maintaining dialogue with Budapest in projects of common interest, according to dialog.
In parallel, Ukraine and Germany have agreed on new military aid packages for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will include anti-aircraft defense systems, drones, long-range weaponry, and ammunition.
Furthermore, the two parties discussed the expansion of industrial cooperation in the field of defense, including the joint production of modern anti-aircraft systems and, in the long term, the development of anti-missile defense capabilities.
