The service car of the head of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov, got stuck on the ring road of the city of Vologda due to a lack of gasoline.
“Just 15 minutes ago it stopped due to lack of fuel. The tank was empty. <…> I moved from the service car into a vehicle that agreed to take me further,” Filimonov recounted on his Telegram channel.
According to him, this episode demonstrated that “we are all in the same boat and we solve the existing problem”. The head of the Vologda region also mentioned that, until then, he had been in contact all day with the management of the LUKOIL company, which owns up to 90% of the gas stations in the region, as well as with “Gazpromneft” and “Tatneft”.
“We are analyzing the possibility of increasing deliveries and shipments from the oil base on a daily basis,” emphasized Filimonov. Prior to this, he urged the local residents not to stockpile fuel and “not to give in to panic,” as demand has increased “almost twofold.” “We need to provide our neighbors and compatriots with the opportunity to refuel their cars,” Filimonov explained.
In the Vologda region, restrictions on the sale of fuel have been in effect since the end of June – no more than 30 liters of gasoline and 60 liters of diesel per car. At the same time, the purchase of fuel in cans is prohibited.
